I. There will be TWO regionally based honors choruses (Northern, Southern).

A) Each chorus will be directed by two music teachers from that region.
1) The directors will be chosen on a rotating basis.

B) Rehearsals
1) The directors will schedule and run the rehearsals at times and locations that the directors determine to best meet the needs of the members of each chorus.

C) Music
1) Each regional chorus will perform no more than 4 pieces.
2) Directors of each chorus should coordinate music choices to avoid duplication.

D) Student Involvement
1) Each school may send 9 students to the regional chorus.
2) The students will be selected by the lead vocal music teacher at that school.
3) Students should be selected to balance voices. Consideration should be given to ability and positive contribution to the development of the home school choral music program.
4) The decision of the lead vocal music teacher is the final determining factor for selection

E) Concert Attire
1) Concert attire will be determined by the conductors.
2) Students should only bring items that will be on stage to the warm-up room. Personal items (coats, etc) should be left with their parents.
 * Upon leaving the stage, elementary choruses will be seated in the balcony. Adjustments have
been made to accommodate seating requirements

EISTEDDFOD - MIDDLE SCHOOL

I. Student Involvement

A) Each school may send 12 students to the Eisteddfod.
B) The students will be selected by the lead vocal music teacher at each school.
C) Students should be selected to balance voices. Consideration should be given to ability and
positive contribution to the development of the home school choral music program.
D) The decision of the lead vocal music teacher is the final determining factor for selection.

II. Music

A) The middle school chorus will perform no more than 5 pieces.
B) Music will be selected by the guest conductor.
C) The finale will be selected by the high school conductor for that year.

A) Boys- long-sleeved white dress shirt, long conservative tie, black or navy dress pants,
black dress shoes.
B) Girls- long-sleeved white blouse or top, ankle-length black or navy skirt OR dress pants,
dress shoes- preferably no sandals, watch heel height for comfort and safety.
C) It is the responsibility of individual conductors to determine whether a student’s attire is
appropriate for performance.

EISTEDDFOD - HIGH SCHOOL

I. Student Involvement
A) Each school may send 16 students to the Eisteddfod. Each school should attempt to send 4 students from each of the 4 main voice parts.
B) The students will be selected by the vocal music teacher at each school.
C) Students should be selected to balance voices. Consideration should be given to ability and positive contribution to the development of the home school choral music program.
D) The decision of the vocal music teacher is the final determining factor for selection.

II. Music
A) The high school chorus will perform no more than 5 pieces.
B) Music will be selected by the guest conductor.
C) The finale will be the traditional patriotic finale approved by the supervisor.

III. Concert Attire
A) Men- long-sleeved white dress shirt, long conservative tie, black or navy dress pants,
black dress shoes
B) Women- long-sleeved white blouse or top, ankle-length black or navy skirt, OR dress
pants, dress shoes. Preferably no sandals, watch heel height for comfort and safety.
C) It is the responsibility of individual directors to determine whether a student’s attire is
appropriate for performance.
