The attendance policy for FSK on how to report an absence is noted here:

Due to the change in the attendance reporting policy implemented by Carroll County Public Schools, absences may now be verified by a written note, fax, e-mail, or phone call. It is our hope that this change will be more convenient to our parents. We will implement these changes starting with the first day of the second semester, January 29, 2008. Some suggestions when verifying your child’s absence:
a. Written Note – Please include the student’s full name, grade, date of absence, reason for the absence, and a phone number where a parent or guardian can be reached.

b. Fax – Please fax notes to 410-751-3325. Faxed notes should also include the student’s full name, grade, date of absence, reason for the absence, and a phone number where a parent or guardian can be reached.

c. E-Mail – Please e-mail notes to the following address: FSKAttendance@k12.carr.org. These e-mails should include the student’s full name, grade, date of absence, reason for the absence, and a phone number where a parent or guardian can be reached.

d. Phone Call – Please phone in student absences to 410-751-3320. If leaving a message, please state the student’s full name, grade, date of absence, and reason for the absence. Also, please leave a phone number where you can be reached during the school day.

e. If your method of reporting your child’s absence is by fax, e-mail, or phone call, no further written notification is required under this new policy.
Please note that a phone call may be made to verify authenticity of the phone call, e-mail, note or fax.
Thank you for your cooperation with this policy change. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the school at 410-751-3320.
