Scholarships/Financial Aid

A Scholarship Newsletter is distributed to Seniors during advisory every month. Students are to check off/highlight the scholarships which they are interested in and put their name at the top of their newsletter. Students should drop off their highlighted scholarship newsletter to the Counseling Department; a peer facilitator will gather the scholarship applications that were requested which can be picked up the next day.

Each month, we update and publish current scholarships for our students.  These Scholarships are available either through the Guidance Office or via internet links available on this site or in the newsletter.  Please click on the scholarship newsletter links below to view current offerings.

CARROLL COMMUNITY COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS

 

 

There are several forms of Financial Aid:
 
  1. Grants- money given, usually because of financial need
  2. Scholarships- money awarded for exceptional achievement and/or financial need (these include academic, athletic, talent, local, and minority scholarships).
  3. Work-Study Programs- money earned by working at a part-time job
  4. Loans- borrowed money that must be repaid
There is also aid available through the Military and AmeriCorps (a national service program).
 
Students and parents must complete the FAFSA form in order to be eligible to receive any financial aid through the federal government. State and colleges also use information from the FAFSA to determine eligibility for state and institutional aid. Visit this website for more info: www.fafsa.ed.gov
The College Scholarship Service (CSS) PROFILE may also be required by some colleges in addition to the FAFSA. The PROFILE is a one-page need analysis form which provides additional info on a family’s financial situation. Visit this website for more info: https://profileonline.collegeboard.com
In addition, most colleges require their own financial aid application forms that students and parents must complete. Check with the college’s financial aid office.
