WORK PERMITS

The Department of Labor has revised the procedure for applying for work permits. If you are a minor 14 to 17 years old you will need a Minor Work permit if you want to get a job in Maryland. To get a work permit: Go to www.dllr.state.md.us , scroll down and click on Minor Work Permit and follow the directions:
- Print a hard copy of the Work Permit Application, Complete the “To the Minor” section
- Have your employer complete and sign the “To the Employer” section
- Have your parent or guardian sign and date the application after they review it
- Go back online and complete the online application using the data collected on the hard copy application
- Follow directions on the Application Receipt
*Students who do not have access to a computer may stop by the Main office or Guidance office for a hardcopy of the work permit application.
Bring the completed application and your proof of age (if you are not a current FSK Student) (birth certificate, valid driver’s license/permit, state identification card, passport or any other valid government issued document) to the main office or the guidance office for approval. Please allow 2 days for approval of the work permit.
NOTE: If you obtain a job in Pennsylvania you will need a Pennsylvania work permit.
