New Food Policy
In order to protect those students with food allergies, no homemade or unlabeled food will be permitted to come in the classrooms. Parents wishing to provide treats for birthdays may send in goodie bags of erasers, pencils, play dough, etc. or purchase snacks from the cafeteria. Each snack is 75 cents. Please send a check to the cafeteria at least one day ahead of time of your child's special day.
From the Nurse's Office
The school nurse is looking for donations of gently used children's clothing. Socks and sweat pants are greatly needed. Please have any donations sent to the school office.
School Closings
When schools are closed due to inclement weather, the following procedures are in effect.
Early Dismissal - All School-sponsored activities are automatically postponed/cancelled in the entire system.
School Closed for the Entire Day - All School-sponsored activities are automatically postponed/cancelled in the entire system.
Reminder
The following items should not be brought to school because they are disruptive to the learning process—toys, trading cards, CD players, iPods, skate shoes (wheelies), electronic games, dolls, athletic equipment, etc. These items are easily misplaced, traded or “borrowed” and we cannot be responsible for lost or stolen toys. There may be special occasions when teachers allow students to bring these things into school but you should receive written notification of that. The first time that an item is confiscated by a staff member, it will be returned to the student at the end of the day. If the same (or similar) item is brought to school again, the teacher will hold it until an adult can retrieve it. Thanks!
