We will be back in time for dismissal, so students will just ride
their bus home!

Winchester and Cranberry Station
SOME Transportation will be provided.
Students will need to be picked up at CRANBERRY STATION @ 3:00

Information for Summer Music Camps
There are 2 great LOCAL music camps this summer. I would encourage
everyone to try and attend one of these camps. It is a great
way to meet new people and enrich your musical talents.
The Encore
Camp is held at Shiloh Middle School.
It would be a great camp for ALL of our students. (Band &
Orchestra)
The McDaniel
Band Camp is for slightly more advanced students. (Band
Only)

If you are considering a camp, but are unsure what camp would
be a good fit for your child,

There is also scholarship money available. Click for the Scholarship
Application.
All County Band & Orchestra students can also receive a
$50 scholarship to the McDaniel Camps.

Winters Mill Marching Band will be holding and Informational
Meeting on
Thursday, May 8th at 5:00 PM in the WMHS Band Room.
This meeting is open to any student who MAY be interested in
joining the Marching Band next year. Attending this meeting
does NOT mean you commit to participating. This is for info
Only!
Yes, you can participate in Sports AND do Marching Band!
Yes, Orchestra Students Can Join Too. The Marching Band Needs:
Brass Instruments, Woodwind Instruments, Drumline, and Color

EMS Band & Orchestra Achieves
Excellent & Superior Ratings
at the District Assessment Festival
The District Assessment Festival was held on Tuesday,
March 18th at Winters Mill High School.
This is an adjudicated event, where judges evaluate and rate bands
and orchestra across the county.
Our 8th Grade Band was the only band in the county to enter the
festival at a difficulty level "3".
All other bands were Level "2" or lower.
At this level, our band received an overall rating of "II"
which is considered "Excellent".
Our Full Orchestra, comprised of 6th, 7th, and
8th Graders received an overall rating of "I", which
is considered "Superior." This is the highest achievable
rating.

East Middle Makes a Clean Sweep
at District Solo & Ensemble Festival!
All EMS Students Received Superior Ratings at the
District Solo & Ensemble Festival.
All Qualified to Participate in the Maryland
STATE Solo & Ensemble Festival.
I am extremely proud to announce that all of our
soloist and small ensembles received"Superior"
ratings at the District Solo & Ensemble Festival. This is
the highest rating any ensemble or solo can
receive. Only students receiving this rating are invited to the
State Solo & Ensemble Festival.

Festival (5/10).
