Multicultural Club

The Multicultural Club meets the first Monday of every month.  Students in this club examine different cultural groups and help others to learn about them.  The goal is to make EastMiddle School a welcoming environment for everyone.  Students participate in organizing school-wide events to educate the students and staff.  An example of this is Mix-It-Up Day.  Students came up with a plan to change the seating in the cafeteria at lunch.  Most students sit with the same people all the time and the purpose of the event is to have them meet and talk to different students.   We are also organizing a Taste of the World event.  This will be in the spring and students and the community may come and taste foods from all over the world.  Some will be prepared by the students and some will come from area restaurants. As our world becomes more global, this group of students is preparing to deal with diversity.
