About Carroll Springs

Carroll Springs School has two very different student populations in the same building. The public separate day school is for students who need special education, have multiple severe disabilities and chronic health issues and who are between three and twenty-one years old. The elementary alternative school is for students who are in general education, have chronic and severe behavior challenges and who are in Kindergarten through fifth grade. All students follow the Maryland State Voluntary Curriculum and participate in all age-appropriate local and state assessments.
CSS Building

All classes at Carroll Springs School offer a low student to adult ratio, a highly structured classroom routine and carefully planned differentiated instruction.

The Carroll Springs School campus also houses other Carroll County Public Schools programs. The Assistive Technology and Birth to 5 Special Education offices are located within the building as are the CCPS Post Secondary Program and Partners for Success office and library.
