Business
As a Career Academy School, we welcome our business community for their expertise, professionalism, and involvement in our on-going programs. We feel that a partnership with the business community is vital in the overall education of a student in today’s world. Partnering with Century High School allows the business community to have an impact in the development of their future workforce. By getting involved as a business, your mentoring could provide our students with insight into recent trends, new technologies, and teach them about the world of work that is difficult to gain in a traditional classroom.
In the past, our business partners have helped us with mentoring a student in an internship, sponsoring a Field Trip, participating in Mock Interviews, getting involved with being a guest speaker, and hosting a Job Shadow.

If you’d like to get involved with any of our programs, we invite you to review the following. You or members of your business are welcome to any event!
Internships
Our seniors have guided their elective course work to match a particular career. We need mentors to supervise our students in the matching careers. Internships are paid or unpaid. A certificate of insurance is required by the business prior to the start of the internship. We ask the mentor to meet with the Career Coordinator to develop a training plan/job description. This is a successful program that is win-win for the business and the student!
Mock Interviews
The mock interviews are in the spring and the material for this event is provided for you. Our juniors are interviewed by local businesses and the purpose is to practice resume and communication skills. This is a good time for the business to gain summer employment!
Job Shadows
Hosting a junior or senior for a morning or afternoon allows our student to gain insight of a ‘typical’ day at your place of business. Providing a tour of the facility, reviewing day to day tasks, and answering questions is what we ask of the business.
