The Purchasing Office is responsible for the centralized procurement of all goods and services for the Carroll County Public School System with the objective that they be available at the proper time, in the proper place, in quality, quantity and price consistent with the needs of the school district, and provide stewardship to the County Taxpayers.
The Purchasing
Office is also responsible for the accountability
of fixed assets inventory, the proper disposal of
all surplus items, and the operations of the in-house
print shop. The Purchasing Office provides all of
these services to a total of 41 schools.

In fiscal year
2006 (July 1, 2005 to June 30,2006), the Purchasing
Office was responsible for the expenditure of over
$41,000,000.00 (million) dollars of taxpayer funds.
During the same period the Purchasing Office issued
over 7,000 purchase orders and 61 bid solicitations.
The number of purchase orders issued has decreased
from previous years due to the implementation of
a system wide procurement card program.
