Superintendent of Schools

Charles "Chuck" Ecker began a four-year term as Superintendent of Carroll County Public Schools on July 1, 2002. In February 2006, Dr. Ecker was appointed for a second term, which will be effective from July 1, 2006 through June 30, 2010.

Dr. Ecker previously served for two years as Interim Superintendent of Carroll County Public Schools. In addition, he has served as Assistant Superintendent of both the Carroll County and Prince George’s County Public School Systems, as well as Deputy Superintendent of Howard County Public Schools.  Dr. Ecker was also elected to two terms as county executive in Howard County.
