Ford Named Softball Coach of the Year

Lloyd Ford, softball coach at North Carroll High School, has been selected to receive the 2012 Coach of the Year Award at the Maryland state level in the sport of softball. This award is presented by the National Federation of High Schools Coaches Association.
Ford has coached the Varsity softball program at North Carroll High School since the 2000 season. He led teams to the state finals in 2002, 2009, and 2010. He also led the 2001, 2003, and 2011 teams to the state semifinals. Ford has firmly established the Panther softball program as one of the top softball programs in the state of Maryland and has guided them to a 202-80 record. According to Jim Rodriguez, Supervisor of Athletics for Carroll County Public Schools, “Coach Ford runs a great program. He not only teaches the fundamentals of the game, but all other things that the student-athletes can transfer into life.”
The National Federation of High Schools Coaches Association recognizes coaches at the state, sectional, and national levels for their contributions on behalf of high school athletics. As the state winner, Ford is eligible for consideration for the sectional and national award.
