McDonald Named Golf Coach of the Year

Bill McDonald, golf coach at North Carroll High School, has been selected to receive the 2011 Coach of the Year Award at the Maryland state level in the sport of golf. This award is presented by the National Federation of High Schools Coaches Association.
      
McDonald has coached golf at North Carroll since the 2003-2004 season and has an overall record of 107-23-3 (.774), with five county titles, six MVAL Chesapeake Titles, and seven District I titles. His teams have also made seven state appearances, including the 1A/2A State Championship in 2010 and third place finishes in 2006, 2008, and 2011. At least five former members of the golf team are now playing at the collegiate level.
      
The National Federation of High Schools Coaches Association recognizes coaches at the state, sectional, and national levels for their contributions on behalf of high school athletics. As the state winner, McDonald is eligible for consideration for the sectional and national winner.
