Release Date: 2/17/2012 9:07:39 AM
The Carroll County Public School System will observe Instructional Assistants Day on Wednesday, February 22, 2012. This day is set aside to recognize the efforts of the more than 380 instructional assistants and paraprofessionals who help to provide a quality education to Carroll County students.
These employees provide support to teachers by individually helping students understand more difficult concepts. They help to make the classroom friendlier for students and provide an extra pair of hands by helping with the distribution of materials to students, checking homework, administering spelling tests, and assisting with a wide variety of other activities.
Instructional assistants and paraprofessionals are considered part of the instructional team, and their work is invaluable in maintaining the high educational standards of our school system. Carroll County Public Schools provides an instructional assistant or paraprofessional in every kindergarten class.
