CETV Channel 21 Presents Student Town Hall
Release Date: 11/11/2011 9:55:08 AM
CETV Channel 21 is now showing Speak Out: A Student Town Hall, a forum where Carroll County high school students have an opportunity to voice their opinions on several different subjects. The event was produced by Channel 21 and hosted by Steve Johnson, Assistant Superintendent of Instruction, and Michael Slevin, a junior at Francis Scott Key High School.
This year the students debated the merits of the dress code and why it does or does not work. They also expressed their concerns about the equity between schools where classes and teachers are concerned. They wrapped up by discussing second chance learning and why they feel it is important for the system, schools and teachers to find a way to make it work.
The student town hall will be broadcast on CETV Channel 21 and streamed on the CCPS website on Friday, November 11, at 9 p.m.; Saturday, November 12, at 1 p.m.; Monday, November 14, at 8 p.m.; Wednesday, November 16, at 2 p.m., and Friday, November 18, at 9 p.m. For additional dates and times for the student town hall or any of our programs, check our online schedule at:
