He also completed MABE’s professional development program, the Boardsmanship Academy.
In his remarks to members at the MABE conference, Bauer stated, “Board members have to be involved not only at our local levels, but at the state and national levels as well. In my 17 years as a Board member, I have come to realize it’s not enough to just be involved with our own Boards of Education. We have to do more.”
According to MABE Executive Director Dr. Carl Smith, “Gary Bauer is the consummate board member. He brings a record of distinguished service as a board member in Carroll County and a history of service to MABE. Gary is widely read in the field of education and educational leadership, and his knowledge and experience will be invaluable in the challenging times ahead.”
The Maryland Association of Boards of Education is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to serving and supporting boards of education in Maryland. MABE is a leading advocate for public education in the state with a membership that includes all 24 Maryland boards of education.
