Seminar to Celebrate the Life of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Carroll County Public Schools, McDaniel College, and the Ira and Mary Zepp Center for Nonviolence and Peace Education will host a seminar entitled A Day On, Not A Day Off commemorating the life of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Monday January 17, 2011. The seminar will be held at McDaniel College in the Lewis Science Building at 9:00 am. All ages are encouraged to attend, and students in grade 6-12 can receive service-learning hours.
The guest speaker will be national educational consultant Mr. William “Flip” Clay, who will give a presentation entitled Rhyming to Respect. The day also will include breakout sessions, a service learning project, nonviolence and peace education, and the showing of the video Our Friend Martin.
