Release Date: 11/11/2010 9:03:25 AM

A dedication ceremony for the new fine arts addition at South Carroll High School will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2010, at 4:00 p.m. The ceremony will feature a brief program, musical performances by the South Carroll band and chorus, and a few special guest alumni, as well as tours of the new addition. The school is located at 1300 West Old Liberty Road, Sykesville. The public is invited to attend.
The fine arts addition features a brand new auditorium, as well as new music and art rooms. Other highlights include a new weight room and an activity room that is being used for dance classes during the school day and for wrestling practice after school. The addition also created space in the building for the Cavalier Lab and provided improved parking.
According to principal Eric King, “The fine arts addition has benefited South Carroll High School immensely. We now have the state of the art auditorium, music and arts rooms that our students deserve. This addition has made South Carroll High School a school that our staff, students, and entire community can be proud of."
As part of the dedication ceremony, there will be an alumni art show in the lobby of the new addition. The artwork will be on display the week of November 15.
