North Carroll Students Place in National FFA Events

Students from North Carroll High School received awards at the 83rd National FFA Convention, which was held in Indianapolis from October 20-23, 2010.
Alec Schapiro competed in the National FFA Agriscience Fair and was awarded a Silver pin. The Agriscience Fair is a competition for FFA members who are interested in the science and technology of agriculture. Participants must conduct a scientific research project pertaining to the agriculture and food science industries and present their findings to a panel of judges with a display and a report. Schapiro’s project examined the effect of single, dual, or triple wheels on soil compaction.
Suzannah Macleod received a Bronze Emblem in the Prepared Public Speaking Career Development Event. This event is designed to recognize outstanding FFA members for their ability to prepare and present a factual speech on a specific agricultural issue.
