Lieutenant Governor to Speak to Elmer Wolfe Students on Career Day

Maryland Lieutenant Governor Anthony G. Brown will speak to the entire fifth grade at Elmer Wolfe Elementary School on Friday, June 4, 2010, at 1:30 p.m. as part of Career Day. Fifth grade student Nicole Findley met the Lieutenant Governor through an organization that helps the families of fallen police officers and invited him to attend the event. Findley’s father was a police officer who was killed in the line of duty in 2008.
Twelve other speakers, including a forensic scientist and a fish biologist, will give speak to students beginning at 12 noon. During their presentations, the speakers will discuss their job descriptions, the education needed for their job, their general salary, and what they like about their jobs. They also will stress the importance of students setting goals now for whatever they choose to do in the future.
