Gifted and talented resource teacher Betty Bloomfield advised two teams from Taneytown Elementary and two from Runnymede Elementary School. The team was given $100,000 to invest in the New York Stock Exchange. The students dealt in real time as they bought and sold stocks and mutual funds.
Approximately 217 teams from the elementary, middle, and high school levels competed against each other in this authentic math experience.
