Shiloh Students to Visit World Trade Center

Forty-four students from Shiloh Middle School will visit New York City on Friday, May 14, 2010. The students will visit the Tribute Center World Trade Center, tour the World Trade Center site, meet with family members of rescue workers killed in the line of duty on September 11, 2001, and present a collection of memorial placards to the Tribute Center. The group also will be visiting FDNY 10 House, home of Engine and Ladder 10 and Rescue 1.
Michael Chrvala, an 8th grade social studies teacher at Shiloh Middle School, received the Tribute World Trade Center Visitor Center Annual Teacher Award in 2009. This award is given in recognition of teachers who have made an outstanding effort to discuss the events of September 11th with their students and to create projects that helped students understand their relationship to these events.
