East Middle Students to Be Recognized at Orioles Game for Academic and Character Excellence

More than 300 students from East Middle School will be in attendance as the Baltimore Orioles take on the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at 1:35 p.m. at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. East Middle will be recognized by the Orioles with their Academic and Character Excellence (ACE) award students.
      
Students qualified to attend the game by receiving ACE awards for the first two parking periods. These students have demonstrated academic and character excellence in and out of the classroom. More than 500 of the school’s 700 students qualified and 310 of the students will be attending the game.
      
Eighth grade students Corey Swain, a straight A Honor Roll student, and Bradley Cook, also an Honor Roll student, will be involved in the pregame ceremony. Assistant Principal Philip Popielski will accompany the students. According to Popielski, “Corey and Bradley both are excellent students who display wonderful character.”
