Carroll County Public Schools Operating Budget Hearing Dates

The dates for public presentation, review, and input to the Operating Budget for the Carroll County Public School System for the 2010 - 2011 school year are listed below:
Wednesday, January 27, 2010
Superintendent’s Public Hearing (with citizen participation) - 6:00 p.m.
Room 007, Board of Education Offices, 125 North Court Street, Westminster
A Board Work Session (without citizen participation) on the budget will be held immediately following the Public Hearing.
Tuesday, February 9, 2010
Superintendent’s Public Hearing (with citizen participation) - 7:00 p.m.
Auditorium, Manchester Valley High School, 3300 Maple Grove Road, Manchester
The Board and the Superintendent have received a significant amount of feedback regarding the elimination of indoor track and freshman sports and understand the concerns and desires of the community. To ensure that there is adequate time to address all budget topics, the Superintendent will be observing the following guidelines during Citizen Participation:
Citizens will be given up to three minutes to speak.
The Superintendent reserves the right to limit testimony on each budget item to five speakers. This will allow time for public comment on all budget topics.
Citizens may not display signs or posters. In lieu of signs, individuals are encouraged to submit written comments to the Board and the Superintendent.

The adoption of the Superintendent’s Proposed FY 11 Budget will take place during the Board of Education’s regular monthly meeting (without citizen’s participation) on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in Room 007 of the Board of Education Offices, located at 125 North Court Street in Westminster.
