Carroll Springs School and the Hailey's Wish Foundation invite members of the community to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony of the new playground at the school on Saturday, November 14, 2009, at 10 a.m. All are invited to share in the celebration. Light refreshments will be served inside the school after the ceremony. There will a variety of free children's activities, treats, and fun for all.
The Hailey’s Wish Boundless Playground, located on the property of Carroll Springs School, is accessible to all children in the community and will also benefit the children with severe disabilities who attend the school every day. The playground will allow children with disabilities to play along side other children in the community and encourage social interaction among all children without regard to physical ability. Now that playground construction is complete, the project can only be successful if children from the community visit the playground. There are activities for children of all ages and abilities.
Hailey’s Wish – A Foundation for Inclusive Play raised the $130,000 to cover the cost of the playground through a variety of fundraising activities and grants. The Foundation was able to achieve its goals with the support of the parents and teachers at Carroll Springs School and many individuals, businesses and social organizations in the community. Major project funders include Boundless Playgrounds, the France-Merrick Foundation, Merritt Properties, CVS Caremark, and Kohls.
