Former New York City police officer Daniel Rodriguez will perform a concert for students at Century High School on Friday, October 23, 2009, at 9:10 a.m. in the auditorium. A question and answer session will follow the performance. The in-school concert is being held in conjunction with the Carroll County Community Concert Association, which is also sponsoring a community concert featuring Rodriguez that evening.
This concert is a career-related activity for students in the Arts, Humanities and Communications Academy at Century. Students were selected to attend based on their academy designation. They will learn ways to connect their passion for the arts to possible career choices. Groups of students from Linton Springs and Piney Ridge Elementary Schools and Sykesville Middle School also will attend the concert. The younger students are invited as a way to encourage participation in the arts throughout high school.
