Release Date: 9/21/2009 9:54:04 AM
Title I students and their families from Cranberry Station, Robert Moton, Taneytown, and William Winchester Elementary Schools are invited to attend Title I Countywide Family Reading Night on Thursday, October 8, 2009. The event will be held from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Cranberry Station Elementary School.
The reading night is being held in conjunction with Jumpstart’s Read for the Record, a nationwide celebration where families read the same book, on the same day, in communities all over the world in an attempt to break the world record as recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records. Families will be reading the book The Very Hungry Caterpillar to celebrate the 80th birthday of author Eric Carle and the 40th anniversary of the book. Other activities will include a caterpillar mural, readers theater, and hands-on science. Each Title I family will receive a free copy of the book.
This event is open to Title I students and their families only. Children of all ages are welcome. Dinner will be provided. For more information, please contact Laurie Beard, Title I Parent Liaison, at 410-751-3610 or email@example.com.
