Get Ready for Back to School with CETV Channel 21

The Carroll County Public Schools Education Channel, CETV Channel 21, will be featuring a series of programs designed to help families prepare for the new school year beginning on Monday, August 17, 2009.

 

Each edition of the program, entitled Focus on Education: Back to School Edition, will feature an interview with a special guest who will provide viewers with important information about school system services and programs. Topics and brief descriptions are listed below: 

  • Elementary School – tips from a teacher on how parents can help their children succeed as they begin school
  • Food Services – meal plan options, why school lunch and breakfast are beneficial for students
  • High School – insight from a teacher on what to expect for students entering high school and helpful advice to students about to begin their high school experience
  • Middle School – advice from a teacher for parents and students about what to expect in middle school and how to make it a better experience
  • Outdoor School – program details and what parents and students can expect from this unique experience
  • School Counseling – the role that school counselors play in students’ school careers and what families can be doing to get ready for a new school year
  • Special Education – information on the many programs and services CCPS provides for students with special needs
  • Transportation – information about school bus safety, bus routes, and inclement weather.

Focus on Education: Back to School Edition will be broadcast every day at 9 a.m., 3 p.m., 3:30 p.m., 6 p.m., and 6:30 p.m. For specific times for each show, check CETV’s online schedule by clicking on the CETV logo on the Carroll County Public Schools website at www.carrollk12.org.
