Liberty “Robo-Lions” to Compete in Battle O’ Baltimore Competition

The Liberty High School Robotics Team, the Robo-Lions, will compete in the Battle O’ Baltimore on Saturday, August 22, 2009. The event will be held at Park School of Baltimore, located at 2425 Old Court Road in Baltimore. This will be the third annual off-season competition held by the Baltimore Area Alliance (BAA) of FIRST Teams. Liberty is an active member of the BAA and a co-sponsor of the competition since its inception.
The Battle O’ Baltimore is an exciting event for all ages, including children, and is free and open to the public. Thirty teams of high school students from Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and other states will vie for the best overall performance in the game called Lunacy. Demonstrations and college recruitment also will be part of the day’s activities. Attendees will learn how they can help build tomorrow’s engineers and scientists through the FIRST program. Guided tours of the pits will be available.
