Parent Guides Assist Families in Carroll County Public Schools
Release Date: 5/28/2009 3:07:43 PM
On Monday, May 11, 2009, at West Middle School, a group of volunteers was introduced to Carroll County Public Schools administrators and community members. They are called Parent Guides.
Parent Guides are parents who educate, encourage, and empower other parents who have children in Carroll County Public Schools. The Parent Guide assists parents with gaining acceptance and respect in the school community. They foster positive relationships between home and school and help parents understand and negotiate the school system’s policies and procedures. The Parent Guide builds a collaborative climate where parents feel comfortable sharing their concerns.
