French Students Place in National Standings in Grand Concours Exam

The following French students from Carroll County Public Schools have placed in the National Standings in the Grand Concours Exam taken at McDaniel College in March:
Edward Blankenship, Francis Scott Key High School - Placed 4th in Maryland and 5th in the nation on the level 2D exam
Christopher Frock, Francis Scott Key High School - Placed 7th in Maryland and 8th in the nation on the level 2D exam
Ximena Quiroz, Westminster High School - Placed 1st in Maryland and 10th in the nation on the level 3E exam
Emily Watcher, Westminster High School - Placed 1st in Maryland and 4th in the nation on the level 4D exam
The students are taught by French teachers Laurie Whitley at Francis Scott Key High School and Denise Diegel at Westminster High School.
Le Grand Concours is an annual competition sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of French. Students take a written test and compete against students with similar educational background for prizes including certificates, medals, books, DVDs, trips, and scholarships. Students enter the competition via their French teacher.
