Students Qualify for National Debate Championships

The team of Ryan Meadows and Gerrit Spieker from Winters Mill High School has qualified in Public Forum Debate for the National Forensics League National Championships held in Birmingham, Alabama in June. They are the first team from Carroll County ever to qualify for NFL Nationals.
In addition, Carroll County will be sending 13 students to the National Catholic Forensics League Grand National Championships in Albany, New York in May. This marks the largest number of students Carroll County has qualified since beginning competition in 2006. Students who qualified include:

Arsheya Patel and Robert Kapp, Winters Mill High School
Gordie Watt and Alex Winter, Winters Mill High School
Nate Adamczyk and Tyler Evans, Winters Mill High School
Ashley Newman and Amber Slater, Winters Mill High School
Michael Hullett, Westminster High School.
