CCPS Accepting Applications for Prekindergarten Program

The Carroll County Public Schools (CCPS) Prekindergarten Program is accepting applications to participate in the 2009-2010 school year. Children must be four (4) years old by September 1, 2009 to attend.
The CCPS Prekindergarten Program is an intervention program for a targeted population of children. Children who are residents of Carroll County, who meet the age requirement, and who are children of families that are economically disadvantaged will be offered enrollment.
The Prekindergarten Program is designed to help prepare children for Kindergarten. Students attend class five days a week for two and one-half hours per day, at no cost to parents. Prekindergarten will be offered in the following schools:

Please stop in the elementary school closest to your home for an application after March 2, 2009. You may also contact the Department of Minority Achievement and Intervention Programs at 410-751-3353 for information or an application after March 2, 2009.
Early Entrance to Prekindergarten
Carroll County Public Schools also accepts early entrance applications to Prekindergarten for students who do not meet the state birth date cut off of September 1, 2009. Children who turn 4 years old after September 1, 2009 and prior to December 1, 2009, and are eligible for Free and Reduced Meals may submit an application for early entrance to Prekindergarten. To apply, please call 410-751-3353. All early entrance applications must be returned by May 1, 2009.
Any request for early admission received after May 1, 2009 will not be honored.
