Winners Announced in MLK Writing Contest

McDaniel College, the Carroll County Public Schools Department of Minority Achievement and Intervention Programs, the Carroll County Chapter of the NAACP, the MLK Celebration Committee, and the Office of Multicultural Services recently sponsored the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. writing contest.
The students listed below were selected as winners and honorable mentions in the contest. They will be recognized at the annual MLK Celebration at McDaniel College on Monday, February 2, 2009, beginning with a reception at 5:00 p.m. in the Rice Gallery and the celebration at 6:30 p.m. in the Auditorium. The winners will receive cash awards. Winners and Honorable Mentions will receive a gift bag.

This annual essay contest is designed to encourage community involvement, education, and outreach and is for elementary, middle, and high school students in grades 4-12.
