CETV Newsmakers: On the Positive Side – On the latest episode of CETV Newsmakers: On the Positive Side, co-host Courtney Bullock tells us about more interesting stories taking place in Carroll County Public Schools. Every Friday for the past ten years, WMUNK, Sandymount Elementary’s morning news program, has been going out live to the students. Our first story celebrates all that media specialist Karen Boggs, her staff and WMUNK students have accomplished over the years. The second story highlights a hands-on learning experience offered to some East Middle students through a partnership with Provident Bank. Students were able to purchase stock in different companies and will follow their choices in the stock market throughout their school careers. In the Photo Ops segment, we see some of Carroll County’s newest teachers at a special in-service, preparing for their first year in our schools. Our third story showcases a local teen artist who came to a Carroll County Student Government Association meeting to share her amazing talent. And finally, in the R.S.V.P. segment, we head back to the WMUNK news team and share with you Ms. Boggs’ favorite opening segment from the past ten years.
